"Instrumental", "progressive" and "metal" are the three most basic, bare-bones terms we can find to describe what is Canvas Solaris. To attempt to put an album like ‘Sublimation’ into words would be an injustice, as mere language cannot convey the complexity of mathematics, skill and emotion they have put forth within this new album. Producer, Jamie King (Between The Buried & Me, Glass Casket and Beloved) was brought on board to help the band achieve the best studio sound possible, he certainly did not fail in his mission. The top-notch production allows the intense artistry of Canvas Solaris' layered, highly ambitious compositions to excel above the norm of progressive music. Though extremely thought provoking in arrangement, Sublimation doesn't alienate the average metal listener with its intricacies, as Canvas Solaris has become more focused in creating memorable songs through its imaginative use of melodies. Sublimation is nearly 40 minutes (7 tracks) in length and like their debut ep, ‘Spatial/Design’, still continues to run the gamut of progressive music. From the spiraling frenzy of album's opener, "Cosmopolysyndeton" to the closing 8-minute epic, "progressive power ballad" title track, Sublimation has it all. Whether you are a progressive metal addict or"average joe metal" Canvas Solaris have created an instrumental record for the masses. "if you enjoy musical mastery in metal, you'd be hard pressed to find a better act than this.
